That last one is mostly because of this Ab Fab clip. Anyway, I'm more the sort of person who scrimps together 20ps from the bottom of her ancient Topshop handbag to buy a vodka shot, checks her make up in the bogs and smells of cats (or the dissection room, shudder), a ruddy-faced whirlwind of split-ends and bear hugs. I may not be glamorous, but there are more meaningful things to be. Still, today I got to indulge in the last desire in the above list: I went to Patisserie Valerie for cake and coffee with my wonderful mother, I felt deliciously naughty and glamorous!
Just looking at all those tasty tarts makes me dribble (wow that sounds prettttty rude).
I was so busy dribbling that I didn't notice the poor waiter for at least 5 minutes. He eventually led me away to my little table. I admired the decor -
- ordered my coffee and cake and waited for my mother. Yes that is a picture of a chandelier - I was very overexcited. Two minutes later, they arrived...
...and the dribbling got, inevitably, worse. I couldn't wait for her, I had to have a taste.
I think my face sort of indicates how good it was (extremely). Forgive me diet god for I have sinned. I have had a very chocolately, very wonderful sin that I 100% do not regret - however this sinning is becoming too frequent for me to really consider myself on a healthy kick. I promise I shall start again tomorrow (or maybe not - am actually planning to see my Grandma who is the queen of good food so it may be postponed till the day after...) but I can't really bring myself to feel guilty about this.
Anyway, eventually my beautiful mum arrived and we had a lovely catch up.
If you fancy popping to Patisserie Valerie on your way home from London/for breakfast when you get in (you glamorous thing)/without trooping across to Kensington or Chelsea, there is one upstairs in King's Cross. I took this arty picture of the new design thing they have going on there:
Ooooooh arty design thing! There are others around too I think, and I well recommend popping in for the double chocolate cake (double chocolate is a wonderful phrase me-thinks). If you need any more persuading, I leave you with one final picture:
Oooooh yeah that's so good. I promise to do less whimsical posts in future my lovely readers, let me know what you want to see in a comment.
